No hedging and no small print. If your question is not here, ring and ask — we would rather spend two minutes on the phone than have you guess.
Getting to you
5 questionsTimings, coverage and what happens while you are waiting.
How quickly can you get to me?
Once a unit is assigned, typically 30 to 60 minutes in a town or city, and longer somewhere rural or on a long stretch of trunk road. On the call we give you the range we actually believe, and we ring you if it changes.
Do you really answer at 3am?
Yes, including Christmas Day. It is the same number and the same person. Nights and weekends carry an out-of-hours rate, which is included in the price quoted on the call.
Should I stay with my vehicle?
On a road with a hard shoulder, get out on the nearside and stand behind the barrier, back from the vehicle. On a smart motorway with no hard shoulder, stay belted in with hazards on and ring 999 first. Anywhere else — a car park, a driveway — waiting in the car is fine.
What if I am not with the vehicle?
Common and not a problem. Keys with a neighbour, a car sat at a garage, a vehicle bought online. We just agree access and how the keys change hands before we set off.
Can you get into a multi-storey car park?
Usually, but it depends on the height restriction. Tell us the car park and the level on the call and we will tell you straight away whether the flatbed fits or whether we need to bring the vehicle out on skates first.
Price and payment
3 questionsHow the figure is worked out and when it changes.
What does it cost?
You get one fixed price on the phone before we set off, based on where you are, where the vehicle is going and what is wrong with it. No call-out fee on top, no hourly meter. The pricing page has a rough guide if you want a ballpark first.
Do I need to be a member of anything?
No. No membership, subscription or policy number. You call, we quote, we come out — which is why we are often faster than a national provider even for people who already have cover.
Would the price ever change after you arrive?
Only if the job turns out to be materially different from what was described — a car in a ditch rather than on a driveway, for instance. If that happens we ring you, tell you the new figure and let you decide before we touch anything.
Your vehicle
5 questionsWhat we can move, and how it travels.
Can you recover an automatic, a 4x4 or an electric car?
Yes, and this is exactly why we run flatbeds. Automatics, four-wheel-drive vehicles and EVs can be damaged by being towed on their wheels. On a flatbed the vehicle is lifted clear of the road, so nothing in the drivetrain turns.
What if the wheels are locked or a driveshaft has gone?
That is what the winch and skates are for. A vehicle that will not roll or steer still goes on the bed — it just takes longer, which is reflected in the quote.
How heavy can you go?
Cars, vans and light commercials up to 3.5 tonnes are routine. Anything heavier, longer or wider than a Transit needs discussing before we set off so we bring the right truck.
Will my car be damaged on the truck?
Straps go over the wheels rather than round suspension or chassis components, and we photograph the vehicle before and after loading so its condition is documented either way. Your vehicle is covered by goods-in-transit insurance while it is on our truck.
Will you take my car to my own garage?
Wherever you want it to go — your own mechanic, a main dealer, a bodyshop, your driveway or our secure yard. Tell us the destination when you call and it is in the price.
Accidents and insurance
3 questionsCollision recovery, claims and storage.
Can you deal with my insurer directly?
Yes. We can invoice the insurer or their appointed repairer and deliver straight to the approved bodyshop. You will need to give us the claim reference.
Can you store the vehicle while I sort the claim?
Yes, we have secure storage. Tell us on the call roughly how long you think you need, and we will confirm the terms up front rather than surprising you with a daily rate later.
Are you insured?
Yes — public liability cover for the work, and goods-in-transit cover for the vehicles we move. Ask on the call if you need certificate details for an insurer or a fleet operator.
Booked transport
3 questionsPlanned moves rather than emergencies.
Do you move vehicles that are not broken down?
Regularly. Auction and trade collections, private sales, restoration projects, track cars and non-runners. Those are booked jobs, so give us a date and a route and we will quote a fixed price — usually less than emergency work.
Do you cover the whole of the UK?
Every major city and county in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and booked transport runs anywhere between them. Emergency recovery goes to the nearest available unit — so if you are somewhere genuinely remote, we will tell you on the call what we can realistically do rather than leave you waiting.
Do you do accounts for garages and trade?
Yes. Garages, bodyshops and dealers can run monthly accounts with agreed route rates rather than being quoted job by job. Email us for terms.
Still not answered?
Ring and describe it in your own words. There is no phone menu and no script — you get the person who dispatches the trucks.
