Privacy policy

How Rapid Recovery Service handles the information you give us when you call, message or use the dispatch form on this site.

Last updated: August 2026

Who we are

Rapid Recovery Service is a vehicle recovery operator working across the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@rapidrecovery.uk or on 07440 702667.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to get a truck to you and complete the job. That means:

  • Your name and phone number, so we can call you back and find you
  • Your location — either what you type, or a GPS position if you choose to share it
  • Vehicle details: registration, make, colour and what has gone wrong
  • Anything else you tell us in the notes field or over the phone
  • Photographs of your vehicle's condition before and after loading, where we take them

Sharing your location

The dispatch form can read your device's GPS position, but only when you tap the button that asks for it. Your browser will ask your permission first, and declining is fine — you can type a postcode or junction number instead. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not use location data for anything other than reaching you.

Why we are allowed to use it

For a recovery request, we process your details because it is necessary to perform the service you have asked for. For our records — invoices, insurance and dispute resolution — we rely on our legitimate interests as a business, and on our legal obligations for accounting records.

Who we share it with

Only where the job requires it. That may include the driver attending, the garage or bodyshop you have asked us to deliver to, and your insurer where you have asked us to invoice them or where we are handling an accident recovery on their behalf.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to marketing companies or lead generators.

How long we keep it

Job records are kept for as long as we may need them for invoicing, insurance and dispute resolution, and for the periods required for tax and accounting records. Web dispatch submissions that do not turn into a job are deleted once it is clear they are no longer needed.

This website

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not set tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from this site rather than from third-party networks, so loading a page does not report your visit to anyone else.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and troubleshooting. The dispatch endpoint applies a short-term rate limit using your IP address to prevent abuse.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or object to how we are using it. Email us and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
